HKUST Summer Mainland Programs

Spend a summer at one of the Mainland partner institutions. The programs take place between June and August, and span from 2 to 5 weeks.

Following the University’s decision to suspend all outbound study abroad programs through 2020-21 Summer Term, the summer outbound programs organized by Office of Global Learning will remain suspended in Summer 2021.

Eligibility

Enrollment is on a FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVE basis. You are eligible to apply if you fulfill the requirements listed below.

  • HKUST full-time undergraduate students. Year 1 and final year students are also eligible to apply. Please refer to the FAQs for more information.
  • Students who have participated in summer programs offered by Office of Global Learning or Schools before can also apply but priority will be given to those who have not participated before. Students who have committed to other summer nominations are not eligible to appy.
  • Have CGA 2.0 or above and will have completed Year 1 by the start of the program. Students with lower CGA may also apply. Offers may be given with special consideration.
  • Any additional requirements set by the specific host institutions. In particular, some of the host institutions specify eligibility requirements related to student category. Please refer to the individual program page via the links below.
  • Students may apply for more than one program listed below given that the program requirements are fulfilled. However, each student is restricted to commit to one offer only and you should note the penalty details  if you decide to decline an offer or withdraw from an offer after acceptance.

About the Program

  • Participation in these programs requires HKUST nominiation. HKUST students must apply through the HKUST Office of Global Learning. The host institutions do not accept applications directly with individual students.
  • These programs are not exchange programs, thus will not be recorded on the HKUST official transcript.
